The Equity Awareness team is a multidisciplinary team made up of first responders in an educational setting within a New Zealand school. The purpose of this team is to synthesise data, make informed decisions for positive outcomes for individual learners, families and teachers and to look externally for any support that may need to be provided that the school does not have the ability to support or financially fund.

The focus questions for this team are:

1 - What has been done to support this child/family/teacher?

2 - What can be done differently?

​

3 - Have we exhausted all avenues internally as a school?

​

4 - Have we exhausted all skillsets and parameters within the Equity Team?

​

5 -What else could we access to support this child/family/teacher

​

In the foundation years of this research the Equity Team were responsible for many iterations of documents and reflections to improve the process.
